We prioritize the intended experience over the object itself, believing that a strong conceptual foundation is essential. Our approach lies at the intersection of storytelling, design, and light, constantly exploring how light can transform and take on new forms in three-dimensional space.
Founded by two Industrial Design graduates of Eindhoven University of Technology, Helder Design combines an understanding of design principles with practical expertise in event and experience production. By continuous dreaming and prototyping, we embrace the connection between art, design, and technology, emphasizing the act of experiencing.
Our aim is to develop new light effects that offer a more immersive experience, shifting the screen’s function from capturing our world to actively taking part in the spatial environment, ultimately enriching the sensorial experience.
With Schermlicht, we envision LED screens as spatial light sources that create three-dimensional light volumes, allowing light to move beyond the flat, two-dimensional plane and interact with the physical space.
The audio-visual installation of Schermlicht was presented at the Dutch Design Week 2024. Check our instagram or DDW website
Inspired by the awe of sunrises and sunsets, Capsulated evokes a sense of wonder through its dynamic design, where light refracts off a Perspex plate, mimicking the subtle movement of the sun. The double-sided, modular structure allows light to move through any environment, offering tranquility and adaptation to different settings. Capsulated redefines how light and space interact, creating an unique experience every time.
